KEFWA President Situma James and Secretary General Dan Makori are currently in Cape Town, South Africa for the FIFPRO General Assembly 2023, where member unions align on global strategy and reflect on the past year’s efforts to assist players.

The event features the announcement of Merit Award winners, bidding farewell to General Secretary Jonas Baer-Hoffmann after 11 years of service, and discussions on membership matters, global strategy, legal issues, EDI, organizing, workplace safety, and health.FIFPRO member unions, representing five global divisions, converge in Cape Town to share best practices, discuss strategies, and reflect on supporting footballers.

The assembly recognizes Jonas Baer-Hoffmann’s service and marks a return to Africa after successful gatherings in Montevideo and Cairo.South African Football Players Union (SAFPU) hosts a panel to share player experiences and domestic initiatives, emphasizing the global unity of unions in elevating their commitment to players.

The agenda-packed assembly includes plenary sessions, workshops, and divisional meetings, providing a platform for unions to engage regionally.
