The Kenya Footballers Welfare Association (KEFWA) extends heartfelt congratulations to Ronald Okoth on his appointment as the new CEO of Sofapaka,succeeding Pastor Jimmy Carter Ambajo. Okoth’s active involvement in KEFWA activities underscores his relentless commitment to enhancing players’ welfare, a cause he championed even during his playing days. Through collaborative efforts with KEFWA and his RO Sports Soccer Academy, Okoth has demonstrated a profound passion for nurturing talent and advocating for players’ rights—a commitment that has now propelled him to lead a top-tier football club.
Ronald Okoth made his first Kenya Premier League debut with Congo United and other various clubs, including record champions Gor Mahia, Mathare United, Mahakama FC, Nairobi Stima, Western Stima, KCB, and eventually Sofapaka, where he announced his retirement in 2022.Throughout his playing career, Okoth showcased his prowess on the field, earning recognition for his contributions to each team he represented.
Following his retirement, he transitioned into coaching and obtained a CAF C coaching license. Venturing into youth coaching, Okoth established R.O Sports Soccer Academy, an institution with branches in Westlands and Eastlands dedicated to nurturing young talents and giving back to the footballing community.
In an interview with KEFWA Media, Okoth emphasized the importance of proactive planning for the future while still active in the sport. He urged players to have confidence in themselves and to prepare diligently for life beyond the pitch.
