Just a few years ago, her talent was getting spotted during the Kenya Secondary School ball games, plying her trade with Archbishop Njenga Girls under the tutelage of coach Fred Serenge.
After her final exams, Violet Nanjala joined Kitale based Trans-Nzoia Falcons Fc. In her debut season, she showcased a stellar perfomance in the Kenya Women Premier League (KWPL), finishing second among the best topscorers with 21 goals, two shy off Mwanahalima Dogo Adams.
During the season, Nanjala was also voted as the Kenya Footballers Welfare Association (KEFWA) KWPL Player of The Month in May, after bagging two hat tricks.
She later joined Vihiga Queens on loan, helping the team win the inaugural CECAFA CAF Women Champions League Qualifiers held in Nairobi Kenya.
In her first start for Vihiga, she scored 4 goals against South Sudan’s Yei Join Stars and went ahead to provide two assists in the final as they won the tournament against CBE from Ethiopia.
Her flourishing year didn’t stop there. She took part in the first ever CAF Women Champions League held in Cairo, Egypt, scoring the first goal of the tournament for her team in their 2-0 win against ASFAR.
She also received the maiden call up to the national team, Harambee Starlets, under the tutelage of tactician Charles Okere. In December, Nanjala was awarded the second Most Promising Girls for the 2021 Sports Personality of the Year (SOYA) Awards.
With her superfluous football talent attracting scouts all over, Nanjala joined Morrocan side Municipal de Layoune, where in her first season she has already set records.
Currently, she is the leading top scorer with 17 goals, helping her team maintain a second position with a few games before the season ends.
At the age of 22, her career is truly set for remarkable feats.
