Life Must Continue After Football, Says Former Harambee Starlets and Makolanders Fc Player Anne Apondi

After recently graduating with a CAF D FIFA/FKF Coaching Course, former Harambee Starlets and Makolanders Fc player Anne Apondi is adamant about professional players preparing for life after football.

The coaching course, Apondi noted, was sponsored through a scholarship program by KEFWA as one of the many beneficial opportunities the union offers to empower the members for life after football.

“I hanged the boots but that does not mean it was the end of the story. This is why I decided to come back for coaching and I am grateful because I have learned a lot of which I didn’t understand before as a player. The training offered by the instructors is designed to provide us with the knowledge and skills necessary to coach football from the grassroots level,” she noted.

Apondi has also encouraged other football players in Kenya not relent in their pursuit of education and career development opportunities, which will enable them be empowered besides football.

“Incredible accomplishments await players who are determined to pursue their dreams and make a positive impact on the football industry in Kenya. From coaching, sports analysis, community development etc. There’s a lot waiting after hanging the boots.”
